Aftercare. Directly after the radiotherapy I went to my urologist again. First of all to show him my scare and then also to arrange the necessary aftercare.
Finally I was asked to go to a doctor every 4 month now and I was not interested to get these scans done in the hospital. I started to hate the building, mostly the smell the last days of the treatment there.

And Dr.Brandl seemed to be very likeable to me.

First Appointment. As I already mentioned the first appointment was directly after the radiotherapy was over.

Dr.Brandl scanned my abdomen and my remaining testicle with an ultrasound scanner. Everything was OK.

Also the results of the blood check were very good: The tumor marker was still down.

Dezember 99. A long time has gone by since my operation and the last examinations. I nearly forgot my disease completely - just Outlook was reminding my to make an other aftercare appointment. Seminomas are growing very fast, so a new tumour, respectively secondaries have to be found as soon as possible.

I had to get a blood examination and a CT scan again. I was pretty nervous these days, to be honest much more nervous that in July. Was everything still OK?

I had a great time the last months and I was aware: if they would find anything, a chemotherapy would be necessary.

So a long story short: Everything is still great.

New Year. The New Year Party made me think a lot. I was just reminded about what happened the last year.

We had really a big party - it got 7 o'clock in the morning - and I was surrounded be nearly all of my friends so important to me.

Even if I am not a very emotional guy normally I - and some of my friends - were crying a lot that night. Not because we were sad, but because we realized how important we are to each other. And how much luck I had.

If I would be able to start the last year from it's very beginning again, I would choose to get the same story. Crazy?
It was a great year, because I learned a lot. Mostly about myself.

October 2000. OK, OK – I was very lazy concerning this site the last few moths. Mostly because I nearly forgot that I had cancer last year. Of course I went to all necessary prevention checks this year and everything was OK.

This October another CT scan got necessary– and just now I had this undefined feeling in the area of my left kidney.

But I don’t want to bore you: The checks showed that the first suspicion of my doctor was entirely true: It was nothing but a pulled muscle.

So everything is still OK. And btw: the contrast fluid you have to drink for the CT scan tasted much better this time!
